Kiko Sugar Mat #634 Sand Effect Nail Polish – review

There are nail polishes and nail polishes, and many textures and finishes to choose from. KIKO Sugar Mat #634 Sand Effect nail polish is an impulsive purchase that gives you enough fun you won’t regret buying.

Looks like sugar, and you can only eat it with your eyes. It’s KIKO Sugar Mat #634 Sand Effect nail polish, and it’s as lovely as you think.

KIKO Sugar Mat Sand Effect Nail Polish

KIKO Milano Sugar Mat is a limited edition range of nail polishes with a distinctive grainy texture. They are gritty to the touch, and some have a touch of pearly shimmer and even glitter!
These come in 11ml bottles, which feels like a total bargain for the price (€2.90).

Shade & texture

Shade #634 is a pale pastel pink, and dries completely matte. It’s a very subtle shade that’s great for daytime and any time without looking too plain. Under artificial white lights, there’s a tinge of blue that gives it a slightly light lilac wash.

The formula is not too liquid, and I’ve found it extremely easy to apply. Two thin coats are enough to reach full opacity and cover my nails evenly in sandy grains.

Are KIKO Milano Sugar Matte nail colours a good choice?

I appreciated both the shade and the special texture. The discreet pink tone and complete matte finish make this nail polish wearable any time for a simple pink manicure with a kick.

Obviously, this 3D effect isn’t long-lasting and, after two days, I felt the surface was smoother. This is nothing to worry about: wearing protective gloves while minding the house helps extend the lifespan of this shade. The texture and colour lasted three days before it started chipping. The sugar mattes, sandy texture aside, are always a matte nail polishes and will chip earlier than créme and gel.

Sandy nail polishes like KIKO Milano Sugar Mat look, all in all, a good compromise for those who really don’t like matte and those with a very fetish for textures. I’m not a fan of matte shades but textures…
