The Project

ValentinaChirico.com is the new chapter of ‘Valens… per voi’, Valentina’s first beauty blog. The original title means ‘Valens… for you’ and – as such – the blog aimed to share Valentina’s beauty recommendations. Over the decade 2009-2019, the blog found its niche in green skincare, multiuse makeup and the independent jewellery market. Valentina refined her knowledge in the industry while working as a sales advisor for a multinational company. She inherited this work path and her passion for handmade creations from her mother, pianist and ceramist.

Years ago, Valentina made a design choice, electing (pseudo) Sappho – a frescoed portrait of a young lady from Pompeii (I century AD, Insula VI 17) – as her alias. For Valentina, Sappho is the symbol of unconstructed beauty, spontaneity and intelligence. She finally met Sappho at the MANN Museum in Naples before leaving her country in 2017. She has that memory forever pinned to her heart with a brooch created by her friend Martina/KAMIDO.

Fashion is a personal affair and is a matter of mix&matching, vintage and handmade. These three components are part of Valentina’s style and are an alternative to ‘fast fashion’. This website explores the world of the independent fashion and jewellery market animated by passionate designers. As an archaeologist and storyteller, Valentina likes to get to know these creators and recounts their personal stories. (Click here to find more passionate stories)

This website speaks to you, who wants to feel and look better without either spending a whole fortune or giving up on quality. To those hungry for the new, those moved by a savvy and eco spirit.

Valentina Chirico has been working with Italian media agencies for many marketing campaigns (i.e. Lush #Pasquaetica, Swatch #MySwatch, Maybelline Baby Lips Electro, etc.). She’s also been collaborating with national and global beauty companies with press releases, event coverage and product reviews. Among these, she had the pleasure of working with Bottega Verde, Revlon, Nailene, Garnier, Maybelline, Marc Jacobs Beauty, and Lush Cosmetics Italia. As the original blog turned into ValentinaChirico.com, the website maintains its independence, choice of products, and voice because Valentina tells facts but dislikes making up stories.
