A new year means new possibilities, new projects and a desire to change.
I think January is a perfect time – after the break, cheers and feats of the celebrations – to write down a list of resolutions and follow them, of course!
Here are 10 good resolutions for your mind, body and beauty…
Let’s say, you wrote your good list of equally good new year resolutions, now you must to follow them to feel and look beautiful inside and out… and go back on track, the right track!
Let’s focus on your mind, body and beauty because we know exactly what we’ve done the year before and we can improve the situation!
Bad habits? You can kick them off, starting from your own way of thinking…
GOOD RESOLUTIONS FOR YOUR MIND & MENTAL HEALTH
1 Be thankful: ‘Thank you‘ aren’t two simple words put together by chance or a mere, yet polite, sentence. Each and every little gesture or a kind word have to be properly exchanged with a thank you, a smile or another good action. Nothing has to be taken for granted because nothing is sure in life and gentle actions are rare. By feeling grateful, you’ll understand the importance of daily and not material goods, you’ll be able to establish connections and relationships based on positivity.
2. Be kind: everyone experiences bad days and blue periods, despite normal, that’s not a good reason to throw negativity on other people or relatives. I believe negativity is contagious and puts you into an aggressive mood.
3. Think and breathe deeply before acting: oxygenate your brain and think twice before doing anything because wrong actions can’t be wiped out with ease.
4 Don’t be lazy: it’s ok to wait and ponder a bit over something new, but you can’t wait for a whole eternity! Procrastination is a bad habit as it may cause losing great working and life opportunities. Seize the moment!
Now you’re in a proactive mood, let’s move onto the esthetic side of your new year resolutions list…
GOOD RESOLUTION FOR YOUR BEAUTY
5. Let’s start or continue a beauty regime: if you’ve found the right skincare routine in the meantime, keep it and see your results coming and your skin improving. If you haven’t been constant, it’s time to start right now with these basic steps: cleansing, toning, exfoliating, hydrating… each day and night, and exfoliating at least once a week. Same attention goes to your body with weekly exfoliation and daily hydration!
Knowing your skin type is essential to find fitting skincare products and build a good regime. Here’s how to find your skin type.
6. Lip balm everywhere: have a lip balm with SPF in every bag or pochette, so you can apply it when you feel the need for supple lips on the go.
7. Declutter your bathroom, wardrobe and makeup stash: are you a crazy hoarder? Putting aside and throwing away old makeup avoids the risk of irritation. Decluttering means brand new space for you, a better organisation and also finding forgotten things that are still good, can be used in other ways or donated!
8. Let’s always apply an SPF protection: even if you aren’t planning to tan or stay outside for indefinite hours, apply sunscreen. UVA and UVB filters are important in every season because sun rays pass through the cloud, landing on your skin causing premature ageing.
9. Do It Yourself your beauty products: there are basic beauty items and treatments you can recreate at home at lower or 0 costs.
Swap to DIY and save with your homemade lip balm or your newest lip/face/body scrub with edible ingredients found in the kitchen. This is just an idea, check the How-To, tips and tutorial section for more projects and life hacks...
10. Try something new! New skills, new techniques, new hairstyles, new makeup looks, new exercises… then master them. You could invest some spare time to focus on a new skill or a dear passion, experiment with pc programs, practise a new sport or asana.
The core of this ‘beauty resolution’ is your curiosity which develops new abilities and open to new possibilities by pulling you away from your comfort zone. Satisfy your curiosity in every aspect of our life for a new year full of experiences, personal growth and success.
‘Mens sana in corpore sano‘, Latins were used to say but it works also the other way round as these new year resolutions show!
Start by focusing on your mind because if you clear it, you’ll live with less stress and less stress means fewer wrinkles, right? Not joking at all, but you have a great potential to plant the seed of a great habit, find the best part of your personality and shine within, with it and your unique beauty.
