Lush – Sunrise solid soap, review

Wake up, sun is up… it’s sunrise! This bright, explosive orange and yellow bar is Lush Sunrise solid soap, one of those fruity and floral bath products created in limited edition for Mother’s day.
Sunrise is a soap with a hydrating and gentle heart thanks to murumu butter, organic tofu and coconut oil. It has a very energising scent born from the meeting of Sicilian mandarin, tangerine and bergamot oils with exotic flowers.
Thankfully, its particular fragrance isn’t pungent or better zesty, but very orangy because mandarin and tangerine are sweeter than other citrus fruits.
I can describe Sunrise scent as “frizzy”.

This soap has a magmatic, sunny combination of colours: yellow, orange and a cloud of golden dust. If you cut it, you’ll notice some whiter portions, that is the hydrating agents contained in Sunrise.
Sunrise creates a orange, sometimes green lime, foam that cleanses the skin without drying it too much.
It leaves body and hands clean, smooth and lightly soft. It makes my skin supple but, in my opinion, Sunrise isn’t the most hydrating Lush solid soap, indeed as I’ve experienced with other 2-1 or hydrating bath, hair and body items where the buttery portion isn’t mixed well and homogeneously into the products itself, it loses this hydrating factor.
I use Sunrise mainly as hand soap and sometimes I scrape a part of the buttery mixture and I massage it onto my hands to get some extra hydration, then I wash everything off again.

Sunrise is sold online and at any Lush shop, but since it’s a limited edition product it may be over in some counters, local site or country.
It costs 6,95$ in the United States, 5,90€ in Italy and its price varies depending on the country.
You can check your Lush site or closest shop to look for it. It’s/was also included in some Mother’s day wrapped gifts like Thanks Mum and Flower Power.
All in all, it’s not bad and its agreeable and not overwhelming aroma clear my mind and wake me up in the morning. Sunrise is like orange juice in your breakfast!
