(Re)Discover the hottest trends of the ’80s with this easy make-up look. It’s so easy that fits any ’80s Halloween costume and character just by adding more colours and accessories.
I was born in the ’80s when colours run free…
bold “stripes” of blush along the cheeks and way up to the cheek bones and temples, pops of saturated and bright eyeshadows outside the natural V, metallic and glossy lipsticks, wild brows and neon nail polishes. Singers like Cindy Lauper and Madonna wore memorable eccentric looks, other singers and actresses sported these trends in a more ‘ladylike manner’ – think of Whitney Houston and Cybill Sheperd, to cite a few. But the same thing was on the little screen, magazine and daily life… in short, everywhere!
For this look, I’ve exaggerated with my blush. I chose a bold fuchsia tinted blush which lasts for hours and hours without fading; for my lips, I played with moisturizing and iridescent lipcolours and topped them with a metallic eyeshadow. It’s a fun ‘game’ that creates a shifting effect! The eyeshadow – to be ’80s – must to be metallic and, to play safe, it has to be “lipsafe”.
