#Multimasking: hottest skincare trend. How to and a perfect mask combo for combination skin

Multimasking is a ‘new‘ hype, it’s the skincare trend everyone is talking about. I must apologise with you all and break your enthusiasm because using different face masks at once is already wide-spreading in Japan.
Hence, it isn’t a new trend, just a brilliant idea that’s still worth a try, why?

Multimasking is a rather fun and messy skincare routine: it means applying colourful face masks in different areas of our faces.

Basically, it looks like playing little Indians? No wonder if you look silly like me in your PJ and patched face!

HOW TO (multimasking)

Multimasking is a skincare practice for multitasking women! No time, no stress: put all your face masks all at once, while having a power nap or checking your emails. Multimasking is very personal ritual and it completely depends on your skin areas ad necessities. Generally, for your restoring session, you will need 2 to 3 face masks plus an eye treatment or eye patches. Your face masks must be specifically picked to target specific skin issues and can be chosen based on the season too. A clay mask to purify, a creamy mask with natural oils and butter to hydrate; soothing extracts to calm irritation; antioxidants to fight premature ageing…
Whether is DIY or ready-to-squeeze, as long as your mask is fresh and can be spread, it’s good. This trend makes cosmetics companies jump for the joy, but buying more than one mask isn’t a sin, particularly if your skin falls into the ‘combo’ category.

PERFECT MULTIMASKING COMBO FOR COMBO SKIN TYPES

On my T-zonechin, nose and forehead – I apply a mask with volcanic clay and salicylic acid to purify and clean my pores (Avon ClearSkin Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask with minerals, salicylic acid and bentonite) and I spread with a flat mask brush (Avon Planet Spa).

For my cheeks, which are the driest and more sensitive areas of my face, I use a hydrating and refreshing mask with a creamy texture. My current choice is L’Action Vital Hydration Mud Mask. Despite it contains kaolin, it moisturises and cleanses at the same time without drying up my skin. Individual masks are smart choices when it comes to travel and pack light, I love them!

For my eye area, I simply apply a couple of drops of extra virgin olive oil and leave it overnight. Couldn’t it be more natural than this?

EXTRA TIP

Each fast mask has a different drying time, respect always the instruction on the label. Never be tempted to leave your face pack for another ‘5 minutes’, especially when dealing with acid-based products: you won’t achieve a better result but nasty irritation.

Two multimasking sessions per week are enough paired with reading, tv, manicure or a hot tea… Next mask? Mhhh maybe a  Lush Cosmetics fresh mask. This is Cupcake… a dessert for the skin!

I’m slightly addicted to Winston Tea green tea and blueberries herbal tea. It smells and tastes delicious. I saved some bags for my next session…

Multimasking and relaxing

Any plan for the evening? Suggestion: multimasking rhymes with relaxing!
