Like my childhood heroine Pollon, I dreamed about becoming a real goddess… May 2017 BeautifulBox by Aufeminin, ‘Divine Beauty‘, made my dream come true, but it made me wait for a while before I could open my ‘beautiful box’…
This May BeautifulBox by Aufeminin has an epic name: Divine Beauty.
This rich chest grape some Mediterranean ingredients particularly dear to Ancient Greeks like honey and myrtle.
This month’s tutorial and the products included in the box focus on nourishing haircare to recreate a hairstyle worth of a Greek deity! The six beauty treats found in this colourful beauty box – which ironically (?) recalls of Paco Rabanne‘s Olympéa EDP advert – are a brand new piece from the brand new line by L’Oréal Paris ‘Botanicals Fresh Care‘, a Schwarzkopf ‘SOS Ultimate Fiber‘ hair mask, the Divine Beauty ‘Aphrodite‘ creamy blush – an illuminating warm peach blush with myrtle, narcissus and lotus extracts – Divine Beauty ‘Honey Moon‘, a honey hair mask, a golden hairband and samples of ‘Quick Treat‘ GLOV microfiber makeup removing wipes.
Are these products worth the price? Did they satisfy my needs and expectations? Here’s my personal view: Divine Beauty products are cosmetics created for (or branded by) Aufeminin. Hence, in my opinion, it’s very difficult to quantify their economic value; finding more than one of these items in each box always leaves me puzzled. In this case, however, the two Aufeminin products proved to be quite useful and pleasing, thanks to their light and delicate formulas, their ‘luxurious’ extracts, and sophisticated, almost high-ended fragrances with floral and aromatic notes.
The Divine Beauty ‘Honey Moon‘ mask is way too small as it looks like a travel-sized product, and has no instruction on its label. BeautifulBox by Aufeminin customer service replied to my Facebook request: the Divine Beauty Honey Moon hair mask is a 2-in-1 product that can be applied as a proper hair mask to be held for 5 to 10 minutes, or used as a leave-in treatment. The BeautifulBox by Aufeminin ‘Divine Beauty’ hair treatments allows starting a complete hair care routine with Divine Beauty honey hair mask, L’Oréal Potion de Force ‘Botanicals Fresh Care‘ with coriander grain extracts, and Schwarzkopf SOS Ultimate Fiber hair mask.
This month BeautifulBox, like the last box the Macaron Gloss Saga, has been the source of a new discovery: a new launch.
The Potion de Force “Botanicals Fresh Care” by L’Oréal Paris is an absolute novelty, and is part of the new haircare range without colourants, parabens, and silicones, but with natural extracts and recycled packaging. Although it’s a mass product with some chemical ingredients, this line represents a great step forward for the French brand. A green step, indeed! Botanicals Fresh Care by L’Oréal Paris has arrived in Italy and it’s currently debuting worldwide with different products.
This month’s sample is a mini kit consisting of three GLOV ‘Quick Treat‘ disks. “Quick Treat” GLOV is a practical microfiber cloth that removes make-up without makeup removers. These microfiber cloths can be reused several times. These small samples are ingenious because they allow me to test three different versions of the same product. Each GLOV diskette is specifically studied to remove makeup while respecting each skin type. This month’s accessory is a hairband with golden laurel leaves in line with the mythical theme. Aufeminin suggests using it with a braid crown hairdo…
I tried to jump into the world of the eternally young and beautiful Greek deities with my ‘Divine Beauty’ BeautifulBox by Aufeminin… with it, some makeup, and a bedsheet! Inspired by the beautiful Luma Grothe, playing Olympéa in Paco Rabanne‘s campaign, I created this makeup all with natural shades. It’s a bright but cool look, strongly focused on strobing.
First, I pampered my hair with L’Oréal and Divine Beauty treatments; I created my makeup look with Viva La Diva Move Me Jungle eyeshadow kit (Barbados and Dominica for the cut crease, Fiji and Tahiti as neutral tones), Marc Jacobs BeautyHighliner Matte Eye Gel Crayon in Pink of Me #59 on the waterline and Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara; Divine Beauty Aphrodite creamy blush and Marc Jacobs Beauty Air Blush Soft Glow Duo blush in Flesh & Fantasy.
I widely used the lighter shade from this Marc Jacobs duo as a highlighter on the bridge of my nose and over my cheekbone along with Venezuela, a shade from the Move Me Jungle palette. In this eye kit by Swedish brand Viva La Diva, I found some very versatile eyeshadows! I completed the look by playing with three The Multisticks by Bite Beauty: Gelato layered with a ‘sprinkle’ of Cashew and a touch of Blondie at the centre of my lips.
Do I approve ‘Divine Beauty‘ BeautifulBox by Aufeminin?
I think so: the hair products are good in quality, well-chosen, and balanced for a specific hair type. The full-size content follows a theme and gives all you need to start a routine for fragile and dry hair. The BeautifulBox service is still to be refined, but I noticed that Aufeminin customer care is speeding up the procedures in answering all social media queries.
I would prefer only one product by Aufeminin own brand and just one sample in every beauty box because samples and travel sizes wouldn’t be considered part of a paid service by Italian law.
Is BeautifulBox by Aufeminin going to improve? I can’t wait to try June box to analyse the new selection, test the service and start a new transformation!
Ah, I finally became a goddess with the ‘Divine Beauty‘ BeautifulBox by Aufeminin!
What do you think about my Olympic look? If only I was Luma…
