Dr Botanicals, Coffee Superfood Renewing Facial Exfoliator, hydrating face scrub – review

Coffee awakes my foggy mind, Dr Botanicals Coffee Superfood Renewing Facial Exfoliator wakes up my dull skin. Coffee addicts will fall in love at a first sniff exactly as I did, so be aware and read on to know more about this vegan skincare discovery.

Dr Botanicals Coffee Superfood Renewing Facial Exfoliator is a 2-in-1 face scrub

that mechanically exfoliates the skin and provides hydration while tantalizing us with a patisserie sweet aroma. This skincare product is part of dr. Botanicals‘ ‘Apothecary Natural Collection‘ – a line of fresh and natural products of extra chemicals like colourants and synthetic perfumes.

The product: product & packaging

Dr Botanicals Coffee Superfood Renewing Facial Exfoliator comes in two sizes/packagings. The featured scrub is the ‘discovery size‘, a travel-sized tube with a 30ml product. The original packaging is a 50ml jar, but I found the squeezable tube more hygienic…

Formula & texture
Some ingredients, in particular, make this exfoliating treatment a helpful 2-in-1 product: walnut shell powder exfoliates the skin; glycerine, sweet almond oil, shea and cocoa seed butter hydrate; while coffee oil from green coffee beans is rich in antioxidants and fatty acids giving an extra kick of youth and energy. It has a paste consistency with thick grains that work on the skin to remove that skin cells, but the overall texture is oily and melting with the body heat. Thanks to these rich ingredients (almond, cocoa and shea butter) the exfoliation itself isn’t harsh on my sensitive skin.

How to use:
Dr Botanicals Coffee Superfood Renewing Facial Exfoliator has to be applied to wet skin, massaged with gentle motions and rinsed off with warm water. Simple as all scrub on the market. The brand recommends to use it within 3 months and to store it in the fridge to preserve its property and freshness.

PROS:

  • it delivers what it promises;
  • it has a delicate formula (gentle to sensitive and dry skin);
  • a comforting and energising aroma;
  • it’s free from parabens, synthetic colourants and perfumes;
  • vegan and cruelty-free;
  • its leaves skin elastic, smooth and supple.

CON:

  • may be pricey.

Its fragrant fragrance is a mixture of melting cocoa and freshly grounded coffee beans notes with a pinch of warm hazelnut, it reminds of Italian melt in the centre hazelnut and chocolate cookies (Grisbì). The texture is really gentle on my skin and makes Dr Botanicals’ product very pleasant to use as a distressing facial massage.

This coffee scrub leaves my skin radiant, smooth, elastic and supple after the use and the following days. Dr Botanicals also claims that its facial scrub improves the appearance of dark spots. What I could see after using it is a perfecting result on my skin texture. Dr Botanicals Coffee Superfood Renewing Facial Exfoliator discovery size costs just £4.99 online* at Dr Botanicals.com and in retailers.

Dr Botanicals - Coffee Superfood Renewing Facial Exfoliator, vegan and cruelty free face scrub (review)

Dr Botanicals Coffee Superfood Renewing Facial Exfoliator is so delicious and addicting as coffee is. My warm opinion: it’s a must-have. I recommend it but the discovery size – despite handy to use – results too pricey compared to the full size.
