Can you imagine how thrilled I was about Dr Botanicals launching its Lemon Superfood all-in-one Rescue Butter? With it comes finally the season for refreshing lemonades and all cooling things! What’s coming fresh to the Apothecary Natural Collection is ‘a multipurpose moisturising balm and true skin saviour…’, and it’s so small and cute that I brought it with me to travel lighter and greener during my latest trip.
Dr Botanicals Lemon Superfood all-in-one Rescue Butter is the new entry in its Minis Collection… the smaller the cuter.
Dr Botanicals Lemon Superfood all-in-one Rescue Butter: product & packaging
The Lemon Superfood all-in-one Rescue Butter is a hydrating treatment for body and face, and comes in dr Botanicals’ signature 50ml tubes in a bright yellow hue. Its unique design is inspired by the periodic table elements. It’s small enough to fit perfectly into your handbag and hand luggage but big enough for months of applications…
Formula & texture
Dr Botanicals Lemon Superfood all-in-one Rescue Butter is an intensive hydrating treatment. It’s multipurpose to nourish face and body, even the roughest and driest areas like elbows and knees. It’s 96% natural, and its main ingredient is lemongrass oil, known for its antiseptic and soothing properties. The formula is cruelty-free and vegan, enriched with glycerine, coconut, grape seeds, sunflower, sweet almond and sea buckthorn fruit oils. Its texture is a spreadable and airy butter, and it has a comforting creamy shade. It melts with your body warmth and gets absorbed while you massage it. It feels so refreshing and lightweight on the skin!
Scent
The scent of the new Lemon Superfood Rescue Butter is super fresh and energising, thanks to the natural citrusy aroma of lemongrass oil. Think of a lemon sherbet or a lemon meringue: that’s the note you will sniff.
How to use dr Botanicals Lemon Balm:
dr Botanicals Lemon Superfood all-in-one Rescue Butter is an all-over intensive product. It can be used as a face moisturiser, a body balm, but also as a lip salve, a face cleanser and a deeply nourishing treatment for very dehydrated and cracked areas such as elbows and knees. Instructions on how to use this lemony butter as a balm are quite obvious – just squeeze, massage and enjoy – while as a face cleanser: apply a good amount on dry face, massage; then remove it with a cotton pad and rinse it off.
PROS:
- it hydrates intensively and for hours,
- it’s multipurpose/multiuse (face, body, lips),
- 96% natural,
- vegan and cruelty-free,
- travel-friendly,
- it has a gentle formula,
- a refreshing fragrance,
- it leaves the skin smooth and moist,
- relieves itchiness.
CONS:
- no SPF,
- too rich as a face cleanser (combination and oily skin).
Don’t get fooled by the name or get disappointed after this news: dr Botanicals Lemon Superfood Rescue Butter contains no lemons. Its name connects this product to freshness and positive vibes from this citrus fruit. I prefer using it as my ultimate body butter, especially on my knees, elbow, hands and cuticles, and as a lip balm. It gives instant relief from dryness and itchiness. This butter has been a real surprise on my pout: it’s agreeable like a flavoured lip balm but more moisturising than any lip oils which are a total hype at the moment.
Dr Botanicals Lemon Superfood all-in-one Rescue Butter is available online at £9.90 (its regular price is 14.90£)*, which is a perfect match for the product. I’m not using it as a face moisturiser because it lacks SPF, and I use it as lip balm solely at night. The combination with Dr Botanicals Coffee Superfood Renewing Facial Exfoliator is brilliant, it’s a must-have for your body!
My London trip: tired but very hydrated(eyebrows: Chella Eyebrow Cream in Tantalize Taupe
sunnies: Twin Beam Cat Eye in Gold/Purple by Twisted Eyewear)
The handy packaging and the delicious scent make it a lovely travel companion: I haven’t left once since I first tried it and had it with me during my trip to London. I feel uplifted and frizzy like a ripe lemon even though it’s… lemongrass!
