Elegant Touch InstaNails Road Trip kit – review

It’s a tradition of mine: when travel or a social event is approaching I must wear some false nails. I got so many great compliments on this kit that I couldn’t keep it secret: it’s Road Trip by Elegant Touch. What could ever beat a fast manicure in minutes? A salon-alike and inexpensive manicure which is also easy to apply and remove? Nothing and it isn’t a matter of laziness…

Elegant Touch Road Trip InstaNails: product & packaging

Road Trip is a ready-to-use kit for a sleek manicure on the go and is part of the InstaNails collection by Elegant Touch. Road Trip is a pre-glued set of decorated nails and comes in a very tiny box with 24 artificial nails, a preparation tissue and a small buffer. That’s all you need.

Shade and finish

Road Trip is an eye-catching nail style in the trendiest shade and finish of the moment: gold rose with a mirror-shine, chromatic finish. The nails themselves are oval in shape, both shape and length look very natural, making them suitable for any occasion. Most importantly to me, these nails are very light and flexible, so very comfortable.

How to apply Elegant Touch InstaNails

No glue is needed because Elegant Touch InstaNails are pre-glued. Everything is inside the box and, hypothetically, the application would take around ‘3 minutes’. The application is very straightforward, and I explain how works. To start with, just find a table and put all your falsies ready to be selected. The only big con, a least for me, is that the curvature does not match my more flatten nails.

STEP-by-STEP

1 Be sure your nails are clean and dry, and your cuticles are pushed back.
2 Measure the false nails to match your natural nail curve. This is the longest part of the process since no nail is really similar. Hopefully, on the top edge of each nail, there is a number identifying the dimension, so you can find the exact couple of false nails with ease.
3 Keep your 10 selected InstaNails ready to use.
4 Lightly buff and prep your nails with the tissue included in the package.
5 Peel the thin film to unveil the sticky side.
6 Apply and press firmly for less than one minute.

Road Trip false nails kit by Elegant Touch

Road Trip by Elegant Touch costs regularly £9.99 and is available online and in most beauty retailers, such as Boots, Superdrugs, etc. The price is a joke compared to branded nail polishes and salon manicures. If metallic and chromatic nail polishes can be inexpensive, they are known to be tricky to apply and not streaks-free. On the other hand, a good salon manicure is long-lasting but can be quite expensive (>20£ for a gel application). If you ask me, I would recommend them, and I would treat myself with more designs…

But I cannot leave you with my top tip:
Have always a nail glue with you, in the eventuality a nail pop too soon after an impact, no matter where you are. (This drove me crazy in Rome, I couldn’t find a miserable nail glue in stores!!!)

Elegant Touch says ‘It wouldn’t be Summer without a Road Trip, would it?’ Then, I make my summer lasts longer with a road trip whenever I want!
