An everyday, casual look with BeautyBigBang and a ‘90s twist

Sticking with the same makeup look, palette or shade for days – until that ‘Face Of The Day’ becomes your face for a month or so – happens. It happens to everyone at least once, and I dare you to confess.

I beat my own records and stuck to a custom makeup kit by BeautyBigBang for a while.

BeautyNigbang makeup collection

An introduction to BeautyBigBang is awaiting for you (click!), it’s about a beauty e-shop, of course. Interestingly enough, this shop proposes its own makeup range as well – branded BeautyBigBang – and it’s cruelty-free. BeautyBigBang catalogue is small but targeted to cover all the steps of any makeup look. For this casual look, I applied to my face base – consisting of my correcting primers and foundation (Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Fawn) – these products:

  • BeautyBigBang 3-in-1 palette Blush Highlight Contour #05
  • BeautyBigBang Eyeshadow palette #01
  • BeautyBigBang Auto eyebrow pencil #02
  • BeautyBigBang Voluminous mascara in Black
  • BeautyBigBang Matte lipstick #10 Fishnet

I’ll cover eachBeautyBigBang product with brief reviews. You can tell, I’ve been using some of them abundantly, as I reached the end of an eyeshadow pan and run out of my eyebrow pencil. These are real signs of appreciation! After having prepped, applied my face base and set my oiliest areas with a face powder; I went straight onto my new look with…

Everyday casual look with BeautyBigBang makeup

BeautyBigBang 3-in-1 palette Blush Highlight Contour #05
This small palette comes in a round compact case with a mirror on the inside. The round tripartite pan allocates its three components: a highlighter, a blusher, and a contouring powder. These three face powders are made of micronised pigments that ‘[…] effortlessly blend to enhance skin tone […]’. Overall, I found them very smooth to swatch and easy to blend.

Colour & Texture
The 3-in-1 palette in the shade #05 is based around an electric coral blush and consists of:
1) a highlighter, iridescent champagne on the pan. It looks pearly white with a cold shimmer, and a dominant foil finish once worked on my skin. It has buildable coverage and applies smoothly.
2) a contouring powder/matte bronzer in a neutral medium-dark brown. It has buildable pigmentation but it’s slightly powdery.
3) a blusher, an electric coral pink which goes to the darker and coral sides once blended on my skin. It’s smooth to swatch and has good, buildable coverage. It’s slightly powdery, and it’s very rich in pigments. A simple swift of coral is enough for a daily look.

BeautyBigBang eyeshadow palette #01
I’ve been using this eyeshadow palette to the boredom, and I relied on it for every look since I had it. This slick rectangular case contains 10 eyeshadows with ‘[…] hues ideal for shading, highlighting and defining the eyes […]’. It’s a practical selection of shades that reminds of the ever-popular Urban Decay Naked &Co. Nowadays every single palette looks like it.

BeautyBigBang Eyeshadow palette review

Colour & Texture
BeautyBigBang eyeshadow palette features 10 eyeshadows with different finishes; the #01 palette has a selection of neutral and brownish shades with both warm and cold undertones.
Starting from the left side of this palette:
1) a matte white eyeshadow. It results powdery to the touch and has the lowest pigmentation and coverage of the entire palette.
2) a pearly powder pink. This too has a powdery texture and a low pigmentation.
3) a matte light beige with cold undertones. It has a good texture but a low pigmentation.
4) a satin mauvy beige. This shade swatches like a dark brown-plum, and it’s the hardest to describe. It has
medium pigmentation.
5) a sheer plum. This too looks like a duo-chrome: an iridescent violet plum with silver and pink shimmer on the pan, brownish on the skin with a shimmery finish. It’s low in pigmentation, but it is not powdery at all.
6) a honey brown with a foil finish, and high pigmentation.
7) a matte salmon pink. It has warm undertones and a medium to high pigmentation. It’s not too powdery and it’s easy to work.
8) a matte brown caramel. It’s a medium, warm hue with buildable coverage and slightly powdery in texture.
9) a brownish copper (?) with a silver shimmer. It has medium pigmentation, and its texture isn’t powdery.
10) indigo with purple shimmer. This shadow has an iridescent-metallic finish,  buildable coverage and slightly powdery texture.

Some shades are hard to be described and, generally, the paler they are the powdery they swatch. #7 is the most flattering of the neutrals and, as you can see from these pictures, the most versatile, (over)used and loved. It creates the perfect canvas on the lid or – used alone –  refreshes tired eyes with a simple wash of colour. Worth to be used are #6, the warm honey brown, and #10 which surprises when it’s built up.

Uplifting sensation… I reached the end of the pan!

BeautyBigBag review and makeup look

To complete this eye look I used:
BeautyBigBang voluminous mascara in Black. A mascara with candelilla wax in a 10-gr gold rose and white tube. This is the product I used just a few times because it’s rather defining than volumising.

BeautyBigBang Auto eyebrow pencil #02 was a genius product! A double-ended pencil with a chisel tip and a brow brush on the opposite side. The formula contains beeswax, hydrogenated soybean oil and carnauba wax, which allows the pencil to glide on smoothly. This pencil draws precise lines that can be blended in with the brush. The shade is a neutral brown that matched my eyebrows quite well.

I finished with my pout and BeautyBigBang Matte lipstick in the shade #10 Fishnet. This lip colour comes in a click-to-open black case and has that mattified shimmer people loved.

BeautyBigBang Matte Metallic lipstick #10 Fishnet review by Valentina Chirico

Colour & Texture
BeautyBigBang Matte Lipstick #10 Fishnet is a peculiar shade that somehow reminds me of the ‘90s. That decade with its burnt, brownish nuances and metallic hues. This lipstick contains cocoa seed butter which – in my opinion – makes metallics more comfortable to wear. It’s a complex shade which is better described as a warm iridescent brown with a hint of orange, enriched by pink and gold shimmer. It has a metallic matte finish and looks coppery orange on my skin. Its shimmer warms the shade even more. It may accentuate lip lines, but its high pigmentation and peculiarity repay.

This everyday look featuring BeautyBigBang makeup collection privileges neutrals to focus on glowing cheeks and lips. You’ll feel relieved at the sight of BeautyBigBang’s prices! In fact, this makeover costs roughly 15 dollars and could cost you 10% less with the coupon code VAC10!
To be honest, I wished for more intensity in my eyeshadow palette, but I could manage it, and the 3-in-1 kit and lipstick were worth every cent! Lack of funding or inspiration? Bear with me, this look was so casual I wore the first Tee I had in my drawer…
