Flatten, thinned, maybe falling… hair can show evident signs of environmental and personal stress! But Nioxin comes to the rescue with its 3D Intensive Diaboost Hair Thickening Xtrafusion Treatment.

With a combination of natural extracts and technologies, Nioxin Diaboost is based on the idea that skincare goes beyond our face to promote a healthy mane.
NIOXIN 3D Intensive Diaboost Hair Thickening Xtrafusion Treatment: product & packaging
Nioxin 3D Intensive Diaboost with HTX technology is a leave-in treatment for all hair types, which aims to ‘boost’ your hair by revitalising the scalp and thickening each hair diameter from the first usage for manageable, healthier and fuller-looking hair. The product comes in a 100ml plastic bottle with a pump dispenser with a security cap.

Formula, texture and scent
Nioxin 3D Intensive Diaboost Hair Thickening Xtrafusion Treatment is formulated with a complex of caffeine, panthenol, and niacinamide to improve blood circulation, hence hair growth, protect the hair from external agents and breakage and thicken the hair strands.
Everyone knows about the revitalising effect of caffeine on skin and hair growth. Panthenol is provitamin B5, and it works like a hydrating band-aid for your hair: it coats each strand, attracting and locking in the moisture.
Niacinamide is a fairly new companion in my skincare and now in my haircare! It’s a form of vitamin B3 and supports the creation of keratin; it increases blood circulation, as well as it mends physical damage and improves the appearance of hair and skin. If you look at the bottle, you might think Nioxin 3D Intensive Diaboost is a clear gel, but it’s a runny fluid.
Its consistency may feel slightly sticky on your hands during the application, but this doesn’t feel on your hair at all. The key ingredients in this treatment work together with a fresh trio: mentha piperita oil, mint leaf oil, and menthol. These three give the Diaboost its scent: refreshing and tingling minty fragrance.

How to Use Nioxin 3D Diaboost
Nioxin 3D Intensive Diaboost is a leave-in product that can be used on wet and dry hair, and daily. It’s active on both the scalp and hair body, and it has to be massaged on the scalp and combed through the lengths.
I prefer it on clean, dry hair and for a couple of days after shampooing to avoid caking my hair. I focus on my scalp by spraying the product directly on the roots and the scalp. Then, I put my head upside-down and massage firmly.

PROS:
- refreshing scent,
- instant effect from the first usage,
- volumising,
- lasts up to 12 hours,
- light in texture.
CONS:
- price,
- available just in selected salons and e-stores,
- not available in the US.
Nioxin 3D Intensive Diaboost Hair Thickening Treatment has an immediate effect, and it’s delightful to use. You can feel an instant freshness on your scalp during your first application, then you get accustomed to it, but its scent still feels fresh and awakening. This treatment may lead to temporary redness if your scalp is sensitive; it wasn’t my case, and I haven’t experienced any side effects or discomfort.

The interesting part: what does Nioxin Diaboost to my flat hair? The more my hair grows, the flatter it looks. More than thicker hair lengths, I need more volume at the very top of my head, which tends to look sparse when I get a new haircut.
After a scalp massage with Diaboost, I can see and feel more volume from my roots to the whole length with bulkier yet light and soft hair. The effect lasts up to 12 hours; it loosens on my head first while my mane stays full in volume. I can still reapply it the next morning or next couple of days for a new shot of volume. Good news: this treatment doesn’t wash off your colour.

This is a product I use when I see my hair particularly flat and off. The final effect and scent are great, but the price is quite expensive (£50.60) for daily use. It’s what you pay for quality, I suppose.
Need a boost? The smart note of Nioxin 3D Intensive Diaboost Hair Thickening Xtrafusion Treatment, aside from its refreshing kick, is being a quick fix. Nioxin Diaboost was developed as a treatment, but it’s also a healthy styling product. Fuller hair for a wild look is just a spritz away…
