Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Original Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm – review

Far away in time are those days when my mom forced me – rather than kindly reminding me – to wear a lip balm. I pick and choose what I need all alone now. I needed to buy a new stick recently, and my choice fell on Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Original Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm, wishing to find a pleasant solution. Who wouldn’t be attracted by the words ‘cocoa’ and ‘butter’ in the same line, in the end? So I’ve surrendered to Palmer’s, and I bought its perfect ‘perfect year-round lip balm’…

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Original Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm: product and packaging

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Original Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm is an intensive hydrating balm for very dry lips.

Far away are the days of boring stick balms, it seems: everyone knows Palmer’s original and unmistakable oval-shaped stick. This lip balm comes in a featherlight 4-gr stick that fits into the tiniest pocket and pouch.

Texture and formula
Palmer’s Original Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm is formulated with protective and nourishing key ingredients: cocoa butter extract and antioxidant vitamin E. With these, beta-carotene and filter SPF 15 to ensure protection during the day. The theobroma cocoa butter gives this lip balm its pleasant meltiness when it comes in contact with the body warmth. Even thou the formulation isn’t of the most natural, its texture isn’t occlusive. It’s gentle to the skin and leaves your lips feeling light.

Scent
Cocoa and butter announce together a delicious fragrance, and so it is: Palmer’s Original Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm has a dominant buttery and sweet scent proper of cocoa seeds with a slight hint of caramel (read something melting and warming). It results quite natural and soothing.

PROS & CONS?
I rarely find a product with a short list of cons if not none. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Original Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm is one of these:
it’s gentle, effective from day (SPF) to night, travel-friendly and fragrant. Its price is small like its package, unbeatable at £1.99 (source Boots).

Far are those days, I don’t need reminders anymore. I put my Palmer’s before going to bed and I wake up with luscious and supple lips. I wouldn’t need to reapply it, but it’s too good to resist. I recommend it your next lip treatment but not as a snack, unfortunately!
