As you shed some light or change your sight angle, things appear totally different. Everything in life works like that, like this Rimmel London 60 Seconds SuperShine nail polish: #345 Black Cherries…
Is it black? Is that purple? It depends. Rimmel London 60 Seconds nail polish in the shade Black Cherries shows you the relativity of the world around you. Hopefully, you won’t need a psychologist after this post.
Rimmel London 60 Seconds SuperShine #345 Black Cherries: product and packaging
Rimmel London #345 Black Cherries comes in the usual pocket-friendly size of any 60 Seconds SuperShine nail lacquer: a rounded 8-ml bottle with a handy cap and a 1-stroke applicator, which is a wide, flat and rounded brush for a virtual one-shot coverage.
Texture and finish
#345 Black Cherries has that thick creamy texture characteristic of other shades from the same range. It creates the illusion and depth of a gel colour but – compared to Roll in the Grass and its texture – it results in slightly less even. I’ve covered that shade not too long ago…
Black Cherries’ unique finish has a hidden shimmer with a decent gloss. The shimmery shine peeps through the bottle and can be seen on your nails as the light struck them.
Shade
This hidden red shimmer switches to gold and gives Black Cherries its mysterious appeal and shifting magnetism. In fact, this nail polish may look like a plain creamy black but – as you move toward a window or a better-lit place – it goes into a metamorphosis.
It explodes into a shimmery eggplant-like purple (a grape or plum tint) with a warm red and gold micro-shimmer, to unveil its real personality in a deep tyran purple, a hue with an intense red component.
PROS:
- it’s cheap,
- fast-drying,
- easy to apply,
- no-staining,
- it has no smell,
- it has a handy applicator,
- intense shade and lively finish.
CON:
- it has a slightly uneven application.
Rimmel London 60 Seconds SuperShine #345 Black Cherries looks great on extremely fair skin as well as tanned or Mediterranean skin tone. The shifting component is the main attractor of this nail polish which never feels dull and looks dramatically dark indoors.
A perfect application will require two thin coats to secure an even coverage. A single layer creates an interesting effect, instead. I discovered it by chance and loved it so much I wanted to show it with this post: a purple tiger eye. One coat of Black Cherries keeps some areas of translucency and others with a full opacity that makes the surface stone-like.
Rimmel London 60 Seconds SuperShine nail polish line offers no excuses with its array of colours and friendly price: less or around £3 each piece is a joke. I’m surprised by how much nail polish the tiny bottle contains. I used Black Cherries so many times, but this 8 ml seems never-ending! A mystery…
