Blistex Lip Relief Cream, Triple Butter and Daily Lip Conditioner – review

There were a pot, a tube and a stick, and a pair of chapped lips. In this dry story, Blistex steps into the lines with his little armour of lip-savvy lip balms: Lip Relief Cream, Triple Butters, and Daily Lip Conditioner.

My renowned addiction to lipsticks requires evenly smooth and hydrated lips. I’m quite exigent, so today I show you 3 different options for dry lips with 3 lip balm packages.

3 Blistex lip balms review Lip Relief Cream, Triple Butters, and Daily Lip Conditioner.

A pomade (Lip Relief Cream), a classic stick (Triple Butters), and a balm (Daily Lip Conditioner): which one of these 3 Blistex lip balms gives the best result?

Blistex Lip Cream Relief: product and package

Blistex Lip Cream Relief (ITA Pomata Trattamento Labbra) is a lip balm for very dry and sensitive lips. It comes in a white tube with 6 gr of products, and its packaging is incredibly tiny!

#review

Formula
This intensive treatment is made to soothe sensitive lips, protect them from external agents (wind, sun rays, and extreme cold) and hydrate them. Its formula features shea butter, olive oil and lanolin with camphor and thymol to protect from redness and inflammation. This lip balm has SPF 10 and a touch of mentha piperita. The ingredients list isn’t wholly green because it still contains some paraffin and petroleum.

Texture and scent
The combination of natural and synthetic butter and oils gives this lip balm its dense, thick texture. Indeed, Blistex Lip Cream Relief is a squeezable white cream which spreads comfortably onto the lips. You can actually feel the mentha piperita! This lip salve releases a pleasant fresh aroma and refreshing (mild) tingling sensation.

Blistex Triple Butters: product and package

Triple Butters (ITA) is that, a typical stick. This hydrating lip balm comes in the smallest Blistex stick with 4.25 grams.

Formula
This lip balm offers hydration, smoothness and an effective SPF15. Its formula is very rich and – as its name suggests – contains 3 natural types of butter: mango, shea and tucuma butter. Mango is rich in vitamins, shea butter is deeply moisturising, and tucuma butter acts as an emollient and anti-oxidant agent.

Texture and scent
Triple Butters is a solid stick that melts with your body warmth, gliding pleasantly. Its aroma is buttery and particularly caramelised. Mouthwatering

Blistex Daily Lip Conditioner: product and package

In theory, Blistex Daily Lip Conditioner (ITA Idratante Labbra) is a double duty-lip product a daily, highly hydrating lip balm and a base for lip colours. It’s a lightweight pot with 7 grams of products and a protective seal.

Formula
Daily Lip Conditioner is formulated to renew and hydrate the skin for young-looking and healthy-coloured lips. Grapeseed and olive oils, soja proteins, vitamin E and aloe vera extract create an anti-oxidant and nourishing mixture; while SPF15 provides safe protection.

Texture and scent
It looks like a yellow vaseline-like product; the texture may remind me of that greasy cream, but less oily as you swirl your fingertips to warm it up and take some product from the pot. I’ve been unpleasantly surprised and you will too: Blistex Daily Lip Conditioner contains menthol and thymol, even if the package doesn’t state it clearly as the Lip Relief Cream does. For this reason, I wasn’t expecting a defined menthol fragrance, not even its strong tingling!

Of the 3 packages, 3 different lip balms, which one passed my tests? Which popped in my bag for an indefinite amount of time (or until I found a new favourite)?

Let’s see the pros&cons of each product briefly, what I loved and disliked, to conclude with my final choice.

Dry lips daily solutions by Blistex

Blistex Lip Cream Relief:
I liked its tiny size, the soothing sensation and its freshness. I didn’t like and wouldn’t recommend its applicator. Taking a drop and massaging it onto my lips is better for me instead. The slight white cast on my lips.

Blistex Triple Butter: I liked its handy packaging, the gliding texture and application, the high hydration and soothing sensation, and particularly this aroma. I couldn’t find a negative side, to be honest.

Blistex Daily Lips Conditioner: I liked how it feels quite natural on the lips, but I particularly disliked its packaging, which is the least hygienic of the three. Dipping constantly my finger in the pot isn’t pleasant and safe unless you like it. Most of all, that cold tingle shocked me.

Blistex Triple Butters super moisturising lip balm - review

If you’re scratching your head because these lippies don’t look familiar to what you can find in stores; there are correspondences and similarities between the Italian and the UK versions… To hit the target, Amazon is where I can find these and many other Blistex lip balms in one click.

Well, there isn’t that much to add, in the end. It’s quite clear who wins this round. Blistex already delighted me with its Raspberry Lemonade lip balm, so it did again with its Triple Butters lip balm. The name says you’re going to indulge in it and won’t stop licking your lips (even if it’s bad for your hydration).
