This face cleanser is made to be gentle but also super hygienic and smart. Its 150ml slim bottle has a pump dispenser and a ‘see-thru body’, so you know how much product is left! The pink packaging and its coordinated pink box have a girly iridescent hue.
Formula
‘That mild’ on the label guided me to choose this product. By Wishtrend Duo-Acid 2% Mild Gel Cleanser is a delicate face wash with two acids as active ingredients. It uses Capryloyl Salicylic Acid (an LHA) and Gluconolactone (a PHA), both of which are kinder acids compared to AHAs and BHAs. Gluconolactone is a polyhydroxy acid, a cluster nicknamed ‘the new generation AHA’. [1] These two acids chemically exfoliate the skin: this LHA renews, exfoliates and treats acne. In particular, it acts cell-by-cell on the surface, so it’s highly tolerated by most skin types. [2]
Gluconolactone combines its exfoliating function with moisturising properties. You may think this cleanser is all about unpronounceable chemical names but it’s not. This face wash also includes some botanical extracts like willow, rosemary, lavender, chamomile, hibiscus and calendula. Its formula aims to cleanse and renew the skin while treating imperfections and acne. Its formula has no colourants, synthetic fragrances, or silicones.
Texture and scent
By Wishtrend Duo-Acid face cleanser is a slightly pink gel; its texture seems quite runny with the heat of these days! The smell isn’t remarkable and not particularly pleasant being ‘chemically neutral’. The gluconolactone and calming extracts help the gel to work nicely without depriving the skin of its natural moisture.
How to use:
This gel face wash By Wishtrend is formulated as a second-step cleanser: one of those face washes you would use after an oily product.
Hence it has to be preferably used on pre-washed skin; worked first between the hands until a white foam forms. It is recommended 2-3 times a week for sensitive skin and always in combination with good SPF protection.

Texture, fragrance and after-feel are all critical components when I judge a product on a personal level. By Wishtrend Duo-Acid 2% Mild Gel Cleanser has an awkward scent I can’t attempt to describe. I wasn’t able to understand how much foam to create to get an effective cleanser, but the results and feel on the skin balance this gloomy situation. My skin feels deeply clean and smoother but not tight. Those annoying large pores are shrinking in size but not clogging. Skin tone is more uniform, and my breakout is restricted in two areas on the jawline.
Can you forgive a product for its weird smell? I do if it works and this byWishtrend cleanser clearly does. Next stop, a cleaner skin!
