Nahaia Active Organics Grape Cleanse: product and packaging

Nahaia Active Organics Grape Cleanse is at the base or start of a gentle anti-ageing skincare routine. This face wash is a foaming cleanser packed in a 50-ml sleek bottle with a pump dispenser. This particular packaging offers a hygienical solution to avoid wastage and contamination; indeed, the product is kept ‘vacuumed’ inside the bottle. On the side, you’ll see how much product is left while the pumping system pushes the gel up. The bottle is contained in a slim sliding box which is an extra touch of style.

Formula
Nahaia Active Organics Grape Cleanse is an anti-ageing cleanser for normal to oily skin. It’s formulated with 31% organic ingredients, natural extracts – and some proudly from New Zealand like Kumarahou, Puriri and HarakekeGrander Living Water (reactivated water) and Micro Vita Love, a patent-pending nano system transmitting energy to the product.

This face cleanser is made to purify and protect from pollution, photo-ageing and cellular oxidisation while nourishing the skin and promoting DNA repair. Key ingredients are grape seed extract, peptides from Moringa seeds and Candle tree extract, colloidal gold, gluconolactone, beta carotene and Vitamin E. As you read the label, you also find other natural extracts like nettle and rosemary. Remember gluconolactone from a couple of posts ago? Well, it supports the formula with its light exfoliating action and anti-oxidant power to promote cellular renewal and protect from DNA damages.

Texture and scent
This foaming cleanser has a jelly texture and a warm orangy/amber shade. The scent is very fresh and natural, it’s an even combination of fruity notes and leafy herbs.

How to use:
Nahaia Active Organics Grape Cleanse can be used alone or as part of a double cleanse after an oily cleanser (like Nahaia Active Organics Coconut Cream purifying cleanser). Take 2 to 3 pumps of gel and work it between your fingers (this will create a white foam), and massage it onto the skin with circular motions. Wet your fingers with warm water and keep massaging for other 30 seconds until the foam is bubbly, finally wash everything off. The Grape Cleanser can be also be reapplied and left for a couple of minutes for an in-depth cleanse.

PROS:

  • it’s gentle with sensitive skin types/ skin areas (no redness),
  • cleanses delicately (not drying),
  • it doesn’t contain paraffin, synthetic colourants/fragrances/oils,
  • contains plenty of natural extracts (seeds, fruit, leaves),
  • feels refreshing,
  • it’s cruelty-free,
  • vegan.

CON:

  • it’s mainly available online (expedition can take longer from New Zealand).

To be honest, foaming gels weren’t my go-to face cleansers until I found anti-ageing formulas. In fact, typical cleansing gels for oily skin have anti-imperfection formulas which are too aggressive for my combination complexion. Nahaia Active Organics Grape Cleanse instead balances cleansing (and deep cleansing), nourishment and protection. Its formulation won’t affect your skin barrier.

Nahaia Active Organics Grape Cleanse foaming cleanser is available online at nahaia.com at $51 (NZ dollars). It may sound much, but the currency conversion helps as well as a special coupon. Fancy a discount code? I bet so! You can use Vale2020 for 15% off at checkout.

If at first, I encountered a small, yet significant, doubt: for how long I had to warm the gel to get a workable foam. Practice makes perfect. Massaging this gel helps to release facial tension, and the subtly fresh scent creates a comfortable sensation. Skin feels clean and smooth, but not as squeaky clean and tending to instant dryness as gel cleansers for young and imperfection-prone skin do. Nahaia Active Organics Grape Cleanse is a harmonic first step in a skincare routine built around a ‘clock’ you can’t, unfortunately, stop.
