If we were back to a ‘normal’ life, this product would be already in my luggage waiting for departure. By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash is what travellers may need. Just them?
Solid skincare is an eco-friendly solution but waterless skincare is equally practical, hygienic and eco.
Here’s a smart example: By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash is one of these…
ByWishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash: product and packaging
By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash is a dry face cleanser for all skin types. It comes in a chubby sage green bottle with a total of 70g of product. The secure cap has a very fitted closure to avoid any wastage; it is entirely made of sturdy clear plastic and has a straight spout that allows you to dose the powder as you can see how much you pour in. It could also be turned into a cleansing water and D.I.Y. mask, but I prefer to use it as it is, honestly.
Formula
This baking soda-based powder aims to cleanse from impurities and extra sebum without depriving the skin of its natural moisture. It also acts as a gentle chemical exfoliant thanks to papaya fruit enzyme (papain), while antioxidant green tea powder, sorbitol (sugar) and lycine preserve youth and moisture. We’ll see if it works…
Texture & scent
The name says its texture: a powder but with different weights. In this sense, By Wishtrend face wash has an uneven powdery and grainy texture, pale green with some white and black particles. The scent does remind me of green tea, herbal and slightly fresh. To me, any green tea has a metallic sting, and I catch the same note in this face cleanser.
Once mixed with water and worked to create a slight foam, it has a sort of viscosity that can be felt while rinsing it off. It helps to feel the skin hydrated.
How to use:
Using this face powder wash seems elementary but – from my experience with other powder cleansers – I can help you to understand the key factors for a correct application. The right dosage and a proper mix will make the difference.
The recommended dose is the size of a quarter coin but, I would suggest starting smaller, especially if you have dry or sensitive skin. Half-close your hand like a shell and pour some powder at the very centre (see the picture for help). Then, mix some drops of warm water and work the powder until it creates bubbles. It’s ready when you feel the grains have completely dissolved.
Some would find some grains in the foam. I experience the same when the water is too cold. I feel like a scrub but does no harm.
Apply in circular motions and rinse off as you would normally do. That’s no rocket science.
PROS:
- it’s travel-friendly and eco;
- cruelty-free and vegan;
- suitable for all skin types;
- effective from the first usage;
- its formula is free from silicone, alcohol, colourants and artificial fragrances;
- it has a double function (cleansing and chemical exfoliating);
- leaves the skin smooth and refreshed;
- needs little product per application;
- can be used as two different skincare products;
- it has a light and sturdy package.
CONS:
- it may dry up some areas;
- scent (subjective);
- (the package may look half empty but it isn’t).
By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash is available at the regular price of $22 online at Wishtrend and other Korean skincare e-shops.
Considering the performance, versatility and quantity per application, the price seems right.
If I was travelling, I would bring many mini sizes for my skincare with me or follow the D.I.Y. way; By Wishtrend Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash would have been ideal. I pretend I’m on holiday in an exotic location, and I use this fancy cleanser, in the meantime.

I do like how fast I mix it in the morning and how detoxified I feel at bedtime. Indeed, it’s rather quick to prepare and wash off. Excluding its green tea scent – I’m not fond of – I like the lightness of the foam and how fresh I feel afterwards. Foaming cleansers are usually more intense – some would say ‘aggressive’ – than others. This one instead seems quite low-foaming and the amount of water you can use can make it more gentle. After a full month with this powder face wash, I don’t feel more water will water down its cleansing effect at all.
My combination skin feels rather smooth and clean, but the area around my mouth and cheeks tends to get drier if I wait too long before applying my toner. You will definitely need to follow up with your toner asap! Sorted this timing issue, I find this cleanser very effective and refreshing.
Shake the bottle, it sounds like… maracas! It seems half empty or half full, I can clearly notice it when I look at it against the light. I was unpleasantly surprised at first, but the net weight is what you expect. It’s like a brand-new bottle of supplements that looks half empty but it isn’t! Overall, this doesn’t bother me.
As just mentioned, this powder face wash – and powder cleansers, in general – requires some time for you to get used to it. Once you find the right proportion of powder and water, you will feel confident in using a different kind of face cleanser. You may even enjoy the idea of creating your cleanser every day as you mix the powder. I do like a little chemist!
