Nothing gives you dreaming Hollywood lashes than false lashes – if you are on a budget, of course. This jam-packed article for Jolie Beauty aims to something even bigger: reviewing a bundle of luxury false lashes and showing the difference between mink, faux mink and synthetic lashes.
I’ve been secretly cultivating a passion for false lashes, I can’t resist this easy ‘beauty enhancement’.
If – like me – you can’t get enough of falsies, Jolie Beauty has some cruelty-free bundles like the Lash Lover IV with 4 top sellers from the brand.
Jolie Beauty 4D Luxury Faux Mink Lashes: product and packaging
The name ‘4D Luxury Faux Mink Lashes‘ highlights the main features of Jolie Beauty lash collection, that is multi-layered, sultry and cruelty-free false lashes. Each pair comes in a white cardboard box with a bolt-shaped (the icon of the brand) cutout ‘window’ from which you can see the lash style.
These false lashes are made of a synthetic material similar to silk in its texture and handcrafted on a clear and very flexible base. Jolie Beauty 4D Luxury Faux Mink Lashes can be used up to 30 times and are long enough to be trimmed to your size.
Each strip is very light and sits on your natural lash line without adding extra weight, which means your lashes and Jolie Beauty falsies won’t get flat or lose their curvature when working together. The texture and style of these lashes try to recreate the ethereal sensation of genuine mink lashes (more in the next paragraphs).
The Lash Lover IV: the collection
The bundle Lash Lover IV comprises of 4 best-sellers from Jolie Beauty whispy collection (£24.99). Every lash style has a female name, praise to women beauty: Vivienne, April, Melody and Lillie.
Melody & Lillie – find the two looks with the makeup in detail below
These four lashes styles have a criss-cross pattern but the lock layering and the distribution dose the amount of drama. Vivienne and April are the fullest thanks to their multi-layers; Melody is more theatrical with its accents; Lillie is the ‘least’ full of the set, yet still impressive…

Jolie Beauty LashLock: product and packaging
Jolie Beauty cruelty-free falsies come without mini glue, LashLock will do the job. LashLock is a clear adhesive that comes in a 5 g. eyeliner bottle with a thin pointed brush applicator (£8.99).
Formula and texture
LashLock formula is free from latex and animal-derived ingredients. Its cruelty-free and gentle formula is suitable to those with a latex allergy or sensitive eyes. This glue is unscented and completely clear; it dries invisible and waterproof. Its texture is very runny and starts to become stickier in seconds. 30 seconds are recommended to allow it to stick your lashes in place. This is my first ever liquid lash adhesive but I still need to work it out properly. I’m not fully convinced, so I’ll give some more chances, which means more fun with falsies.
Here’s my list with the good and the bad about Jolie Beauty LashLock…
PROS:
- it has a gentle formula;
- an easy-to-use applicator;
- it’s cruelty-free;
- it dries invisible.
CONS:
- it needs more time to stick your lashes on;
- messes around with powder eyeshadows (see picture);
- doesn’t feel waterproof.
Mink VS Faux Mink VS Synthetic: what’s the difference?
You decide the type of lashes you prefer but it’s good to know there are some options on the market!
Mink lashes are natural lashes made from mink fur. You can see and feel how each lash is natural in its weight, diameter, shades and texture both to the touch and visual examination. Mink lashes look fluffier than artificial falsies and have a natural gloss. As you wear them you feel… nothing. At a closer look, you can see the natural colour and shape, in particular how the lashes become incredibly thin at the tip. They reminded me of my tabby cat fur, which is a quite creepy note.
Faux mink mimic mink fur lightness, overall look and diameter. Faux mink lashes are made of synthetic materials and offer a nice variety: ‘silk lashes‘ – actually man-made – and faux mink, also synthetic. The difference is in the material and finesse.
Synthetic lashes are the most common, as well as the cheapest option. Unfortunately, quality varies depending on the manufacturer with many gritty versions around. At a closer look, you can see the polymeric shine and the absolute perfection in the shape of each lash. To the touch, they are bouncy but not flexible nor featherlight.
Melody & Lillie, 2 makeup looks
When I received this Jolie Beauty PR package, I knew I was going to try Melody first and I said it clearly on my IG stories.

I don’t think many will ask me why choosing faux mink over real mink, but these Jolie Beauty lashes are very pleasant and well-designed. I found them extremely light and flexible that I removed them with sorrow. The clear band is the pro feature in these models as it makes the lashes feeling more ‘natural’ and your makeup looking more natural without the bold eyeliner you would normally need to conceal the lash strip.
You may ask, why getting so obsessed with falsies? Explaining it may sound quite egoistic or superficial but I feel good – slightly different – a version of me I like.
If you could, would you upgrade yourself to a new beauty version?
