This isn’t water but your skin will highly appreciate some “sips” of dear, Klairs Daily Skin Softening Water each morning and evening.

dear, Klairs Daily Skin Softening Water: product & packaging

This big 500ml bottle ($27.00) contains months and months of applications so you don’t have to worry about running out of dear, Klairs Daily Skin Softening Water! This is a skin preparation water, a light exfoliating solution to prep your skin before toning and, you know, it’s going to be a daily presence in your routine.

Formula
dear, Klairs water has a very delicate formula. It combines the lightly exfoliating action of sugar cane extract and citric acid (0.15%) with the freshness and hydration of cucumber water (45%). Cucumber water is the first ingredient on the list and – I guess – is the reason why the bottle is green and chubby. The delicate dual formula is designed for very dry skin and the most sensitive ones alike.

Texture and scent
It’s like water: crystal clear, light, odourless and without any traces of oiliness or viscosity. So, how would you say it’s working and it isn’t like “water” or a simple toner? As you swipe a cotton pad across your face, you might smell something and see something on your pad. It’s the “water” dissolving the dead skin cells.

How to
You could use dear, Klairs Daily Skin Softening Water as a toner but the best way to use it is to soak a pad, apply it on the area to target – for example, where you feel roughness, dry patches or whiteheads – wait a few secs and wipe it away.

PROS:

  • it’s suitable for all skin types,
  • for daily use,
  • vegan and eco-friendly,
  • it has a delicate formula with dual action,
  • no alcohol, silicon, fragrance or artificial colours,
  • a dual action,
  • it exfoliates delicately,
  • it leaves no traces.

CON:

  • the exfoliating formula isn’t strong enough on combo, oily, acne-prone skin types.

This crystal-clear product has an equally crystal-clear double function which seems a perfect fit for combo skins and their multiple issues, spanning from sensitivity and dryness to large pores and build-ups.
So, here I am ready to try it.

My only comparison for this kind of skincare treatment would be with By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water but they’re different.

I’ve been using dear, Klairs Daily Skin Softening Water for more than one month, every day, AM/PM; its gentleness is its instant feeling. Quick cleanliness, soothing and hydration are other features that I could feel with pleasure.

In one week, I could notice a finer texture and no usual dry patches, which isn’t simply promising! It makes a great canvas for the following skincare steps and makeup later. However, my skin needs control over roughness and enlarged pores that tend to stay as they are and get more prone to get clogged.

In short, my dry skin (cheeks) truly appreciates dear, Klairs skin water but the rest would love By Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water ($22). This one remains my favourite of this kind by far but is more “aggressive” for everyday use.
If your skin is combo, prone to get congested or shows hormonal acne, you might consider an extra specific treatment. If you need something stronger, switch to the mandelic water with care, instead.

For example, I’ll keep using dear, Klairs Daily Skin Softening Water for months and sorting my large pores issue with a specific treatment like Tiam Pore Minimising 21 Cream.
Problem: sorted!
