dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum: product & packaging
Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum (regular price $40) is part of the best-seller vitamin-based range by the Korean skincare brand dear, Klairs. This serum comes in a practical 30ml slim bottle with a pump dispenser and combines firming and brightening effects for multispectrum anti-ageing care.
Formula
This formula for all skin types has as its star ingredients 10% Vitamin C derivate (3-O- Ethyl Ascorbic Acid) and niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3. Together they target typical early ageing issues by brightening the skin tone, treating hyperpigmentation and minimising fine lines. These two skincare key are supported by a concoction of vitamins (E and B5), madecassoside – an active ingredient of Centella Asiatica – and Sodium Hyaluronate – a form of HA with a smaller molecular weight – to solve dullness, supply hydration and improve skin firmness.
Texture and scent
This serum is a clear and lightly scented liquid with a perceptible viscosity; however, its texture feels lightweight and gets absorbed fast without leaving any oily or sticky residues.
How to use dear, Klairs Vitamin Charging Serum:
This serum follows your toner or preparation water, and it’s recommended for both AM and PM routines. A couple of pumps are enough to treat both the face and neck.
PROS:
- it’s for all skin types;
- cruelty-free and vegan-friendly;
- free from artificial fragrances, colourants and silicon;
- it has no metallic smell (Vit C);
- it gets absorbed fast;
- leaves on stickiness or smell;
- brightens dull skin tones;
- improves firmness.
CONS:
- the full price is considerably high for the amount of product;
- SPF is essential with this Vit C treatment.
Once I started using serums (and ampoules), I feel like my skincare routine wouldn’t be the same without one. Of course, trying a new treatment isn’t always a hit, especially if one isn’t used to Vitamin C and its derivates. So how did dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum perform on my combination skin?

The first time I used this Vitamin-based serum I was fooled by its viscosity but the first impression disappeared in seconds as the product vanished on my skin. It didn’t vanish but my skin absorbed it really well without reacting or reddening. The first sensation was a smoother finish to the touch and, as I continued the application day and night for weeks, I noticed how my skin was keeping the natural moist for longer and was looking and feeling plumper.
The brightening effect is also noticeable: although I can still notice some light unevenness and temporary redness (i.e. when applying, patting or rubbing a product onto the skin), the tone is generally more luminous. My sunspots have lightened considerably, especially on my forehead and right cheek. A success!
SPOILER ALERT: I wanted to go a little further and I combined this serum with dear, Klairs Vitamin E mask from the same skincare range overnight. Vitamin C and Vitamin E can actually be combined to contrast cellular oxidation. Moreover, Vitamin E can support Vitamin C, which is essential for collagen production. More collagen, the support net of our tissues, translates into plumper skin and this is what you need for firmer skin together with hydration from HA and its derivates, for example…
I don’t reach for this combination every night – the why will be covered in my last Wishtrend review – but the amount of applications per week makes a big difference in my skin texture.
Skincare should be easy and dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum proves it can fit into my skincare routine without waiting too long between steps but its bright promise arrives relatively fast.
