Formula

To provide you with the soothing effect your skin needs, dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream primarily uses the power of centella asiatica extract and guaiazulene. Centella Asiatica is highly praised for its anti-inflammatory properties, as guaiazulene – less known but still interesting. This active ingredient derived from chamomile oil isn’t only used in cosmetics as a natural blue colouring but also for its anti-inflammatory action. dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream also contains shea butter, ceramide and portulaca oleracea extract, known for its skin-soothing and antioxidant properties.

Texture and scent

This blue cream has a thick, easy-to-spread balmy texture that sits comfortably on the skin without leaving any oiliness despite its wait. It has no particular fragrance, making it suitable for irritable skin and noses alike.

How to use dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream:

dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream can be used day and night after toner and serum. It’s recommended topically where your skin tends to redden, and followed by your moisturiser, particularly if you have dry skin.

PROS:

  • it’s for sensitive skin and all skin types;
  • free from ethanol, artificial colourant and fragrances;
  • cruelty-free and vegan-friendly;
  • scentless;
  • it soothes affected areas;
  • makes the skin feel protected and hydrated (combo);
  • its application is comfortable.

CONS:

  • it has no SPF (as AM/PM products).

As you can imagine or as I stated many times, combo skin asks you to tweak your skincare routine constantly. Not only by the season but also by how sensitive or dry decides to turn.

When I started using dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream, my cheeks were patchy; my oily forehead was hyperpigmented with signs of redness, and I had some red scars. Its first impact was too much but the second application, on the same day at night, was a pure dream.

The balmy consistency is made to deliver the soothing sensation the ingredients work for. Applying this cream is deeply rewarding and comfortable, and feels particularly suitable for in the evening, when you want your skin to feel more protected.

Although this cream should be used topically and not be your final moisturiser, every area of my combination skin felt hydrated and protected. Not just soothed. If I need more, I layer it with dear, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask (coming soon) overnight but I feel it’s perfect like this.

A day version fueled with SPF would be a real dream like its blue shade! Is blue your favourite colour? I would give it a go even if you like… red!
