Eye of Love Lilac Dream and Red Diamond Perfumes – review

There’s nothing more personal than perfumes, your signature bookmarking your presence. However, these Eye of Love pheromone perfumes do much more.

Lilac Dream at night, Red Diamond by day. These Eye of Love pheromone perfumes enhance the idea those surrounding you have of you.

How Pheromone Perfumes Work

Pheromone perfumes don’t work by magic but by attested chemistry – natural chemistry that our bodies normally create and we can perceive. We produce pheromones that others can smell and reply to… but only subconsciously. Glands in our noses can detect these substances and send a signal to the limbic region of our brain, the one in charge of emotions. Here more chemistry happens with the production of dopamine.

Since our pheromones can be easily washed off or covered up by all the products we use during the day as part of our routines, here’s where pheromone perfumes come into action. Eye of Love perfumes uses natural pheromones from wild yam extracts to mimic the effects of human pheromones that can vary from attention and attraction to more confidence and strength. You can boost your self-esteem and how people around can see you so you can have more chances to interact with the other sex or your own. Each pheromone used in perfume-making has a specific audience in mind or goal, it’s up to you what you want.

Eye of Love Lilac Dream is a sweet eau de parfum inspired by female indica strains with a final warm olfactory profile mostly made for the evening. Its main goals are inducing relaxation and a sense of calm while building a lasting memory of you in others, specifically men.
This feminine fragrance is part of the In Bloom collection and is available in a 30ml bottle (£31) and a 10ml slick tube (£19), perfect for travelling or going out.

What I say about it: selling perfumes is hard but describing a scent can be a truly personal experience, if not a challenge that’s not for everyone. Putting into words what Lilac Dream feels like has been a real test because most of its olfactory notes don’t seem to match what I can smell.

Indeed, there’s much chemistry going on when wearing any perfume. Alcohol will evaporate soon and the rest of the fragrant ingredients will interact with your body Ph, modifying the final result from skin to skin. This is how perfumes become your own, unique signature.

Lilac Dream is a round scent that could sit in the Gourmand family, where perfumes recalling food are based, but its place can be the house of the Soft Oriental scents. It’s introduced by sweet notes of vanilla that tricked my mind into believing it’s a caramelised or sugary fruit (a berry?) encased in a resinous woody case. The result is a sweet and warm mouthwatering fragrance that creates addiction.

Another factor that contributed to hooking me is its lasting power. Lilac Dream is a robust scent that doesn’t seem to develop too much or fade as regular perfumes do. It stays pretty much as it feels at the first spritz for more than 18 hours or until the next shower. The body heat seems to enhance and reactivate the scent, so any clothing can “store” any drops of this delicious scent.

eye of love matchmaker red diamond pheromone perfume travel size

EoL Matchmaker Red Diamond: Fragrance ID, Review

Created by businesswoman and TV presenter Patti Stanger, an expert in “matchmaking”, Eye of Love Red Diamond is a crispy eau de parfum with bright citrus notes made for daytime. It aims to increase your confidence and boost your attractiveness level.
This eau de parfum is part of the Matchmaker collection and is available in a 10ml slick spray tube (£23), a 30ml diamond-shaped bottle (£43) – a great addition to display in any perfume collection – and a scented massage candle with shea butter and almond oil (£27).

Red Diamond for her is also available in different versions per gender preference, and its male counterpart is Black Diamond, also available in different versions and in travel sizes.

Top: citrus and grapefruit
Heart: jasmine, black currant and lily
Base: vanilla, amber and must

What I say about it: if red is the colour of passion, Red Diamond is yellow with its positive vibes and exhilarating energy. It opens up with bright citrus and fresh green notes, persisting in its uplifting Citrus identity. The lasting power might be less intense than Lilac Dream but its personality is equally stark. It speaks of feminine sophistication, which might seem delicate at first but is decisive and powerful.

Pheromone Perfumes: Do They Work and How Do They Make You Feel?

As different as day and night, Eye of Love Lilac Dream and Red Diamond are both finely made scents that make a difference in your subconscious. I felt strong when going to work, more confident and easy to speak with when in social contexts. I received many times compliments on my scent or remarks on how good I smell. Those words were from guys who usually don’t compliment on such.

Would you conclude that these scents attracted someone? How I feel is much more important to me. I actually feel ecstatic, especially when wearing Lilac Dream, which I can call my signature.
The rest of the matter is rather private so I’ll let you wonder.
