Berber’s Treat Black Eucalyptus Gel, all natural cleanser – review

I was dreaming of a Moroccan spa experience but – as the ordinary broke students – I had to find a more convenient solution. My humble bathroom, a running hot bath, clouds of vapour, and a pot of Berber’s Treat Black Eucalyptus Gel. My bath is not that stylish (e.g. it has been in work-in-progress for months), but I cleanse my mind and body and feel quite relaxed after my homemade sauna.

Berber’s Treat
Black Eucalyptus Gel is presented as the ancient alternative wash to common, chemical-stuffed body care.

A black gel that’s not black: then, what’s exactly this Berber’s Treat eucalyptus thing?

Berber’s Treat Black Eucalyptus Gel: product & packaging

Berber’s Treat revives the Moroccan Hammam tradition with its Black Eucalyptus Gel, an essential body and face cleanser for men and women. A multi-use product that becomes a daily body wash, a face cleanser, and a body scrub. The packaging is basic and has got a taste for simplicity: a 200-ml plastic pot with a soft metallic lid.

Formula
Berber’s Treat has stripped down to the basics for its product lines, the Black Eucalyptus Gel is a brilliant example. This handy cleansing gel contains just olive oil, potash and pure eucalyptus essential oil. It has no preservatives, no artificial colouring or fragrances. Its formula is simple, it doesn’t irritate or dry up the skin. It’s suitable for all skin types: eczema-prone and very delicate skin. Its formulation is 100% natural and multitasking; it gently cleanses, purifies, removes dead skin cells and adds moisture.

Texture & scent
Berber’s Treat Black Eucalyptus Gel is not black, and it’s not a typical gel, so? Its consistency is very similar to raw honey or dense caramel which, when picked with a spoon, creates threads but slowly melts with the body temperature exactly like honey! It’s a viscous solid gel, and its colour is peculiar as well: a greyish hue of amber with a touch of green. The scent is what you can expect: a revitalising, eucalyptus fragrance.

How to use:
Berber’s Treat Black Eucalyptus Gel can be used as a face detergent, daily body cleanser and body scrub with an exfoliating glove.
To get the best of its benefits and the most pleasant experience you could ever have: run a very hot bath, so to open your pores (and relax); wet your skin, and spread some black gel in circular motions with a sponge. Stop and breath its aromatic essence: the skin will feel softer – if you let the product soak – and your chest lighter, while your mind will find its zen spot. Rinse it off with warm water as usual. If you want to use the black eucalyptus gel as a scrub, proceed on wet skin and apply some peas of gel on your Kessa glove (or your exfoliating glove), massage in circular motions and rinse thoroughly with warm water. Pat dry and apply your favourite moisturiser.

After using Berber’s Treat Black Eucalyptus Gel on my very dry skin

– Yes, it was cold… –

In my opinion, the real surprise comes when Berber’s Treat Black Eucalyptus Gel is part of your skincare routine. I was very sceptical at first, but I had to change my mind due to a recent annoying breakout. Every time I was washing my face or removing my make-up with some new wipes, pimples and redness were popping on my forehead with an equally annoying itchy sensation. I was looking for something delicate yet effective enough to properly wash my face. Then I decided to give this gel a go, but its texture was really unusual for the purpose…

How to use Moroccan black soap gel l as a face cleanser?

Wet your face with warm water; take some gel with your fingertips and work it out on your palms, massage your face well to spread it evenly. Rinse it off with warm water until you feel your skin smooth and free of any residue.
No redness and fewer pimples after the first usage!

PROS:

  •  it’s multi-use (face wash, body cleanser, body scrub) and multipurpose (cleanse, detoxify, exfoliate, nourish, smooth & even);
  • gentle and calming;
  • it has got a 100% natural formula (no preservatives, no artificial colours/fragrance, no chemicals);
  • it’s suitable for all skin types;
  • cruelty-free;
  • it has got an aromatic and natural scent.

CONS:

  • too little content for a body cleanser;
  • (it’s hard to work on your face but not impossible).

The content isn’t enough for a daily body and face product, hence a product you’re going to use a lot. It doesn’t represent a big issue, and the same applies to its usage as a face cleanser.

Berber’s Treat Kessa scrubbing glove (in black or white) is also available online

I love the way every part of myself enjoys the Black Eucalyptus Gel. My skin feels very clean but not dried up, smooth and radiant; the gel smells and feels fresh. My skin looks luminous and silky; however, a moisturiser is still a must because the glowing effect loses in intensity after a couple of hours. I can have a bath, a sauna and a relaxing treatment at home, how not to love it? It’s all thanks to the invigorating aroma which seems multiplied by the heat, exactly as in a sauna!

If you like the idea of a totally natural cleanser, which is ridiculously simple and effective, Berber’s Treat Black Eucalyptus Gel may be a good investment at £14.00 online and on Amazon. This product is packed with eucalyptus minus the koalas.
