Pinky Paradise and my alter ego with Phantasee Glow UV Green contact lenses – review

Look: Birmingham changed me drastically! My alter ego has got a particular kick and some colour too: it’s not by magic or radiation, but it’s the Phantasee Glow UV Green ‘effect’, the coloured contact lens I’m wearing on my right eye.

Pinky Paradise Phantasee Glow UV Green contact lenses - review by Valentina Chirico

Pinky Paradise – as the name suggests – is the paradise for cosplayers

who would browse hours to find the perfect pair of contact lenses for their favourite character. Contact lenses are so much fun that you don’t actually need a costume to wear some, mine is a BRIGHT example…

Phantasee Glow UV Green: product and packaging

Phantasee Glow UV Green is a coloured contact lens made in South Korea and FDA approved.

Like all contact lenses, this model comes in solution in its small bottle with protection seal. The expiring date on the bottle refers to the liquid, and the contact has a one-year lifespan.

Specifics
Phantasee Glow UV Green is a simple coloured contact lens: it doesn’t enlarge your eyes because it has purely aesthetic purposes. It’s 14.00 mm large in diameter with a curve of 8.6 mm; its water percentage is 38% and is a not a prescription lens. At first, it looks tiny but – after a short practice – it’s straightforward to manage and put in place. It’s extremely light, so light-weighted, you could forget to have these on, hang around the house and scare your housemates! If compared to the Phantasee Gremlin sclera lens, the GLOW UV tends to bend easier and is less soft. However, this factor didn’t impact my overall experience and wearing time, its “zero weight” balances the situation.

Shade
The Phantasee GLOW UV line comes in six shades, and the one I’m using is an incredibly vibrant light neon green which glows in the dark under UV lights. UV Green proves to be fully opaque and my natural colour doesn’t show up underneath the lens.
Phantasee cosplayer and party lenses

PROS:

  • it’s light,
  • high quality,
  • FDA approved,
  • easy to use,
  • suitable for dark eyes,
  • ideal for parties and cosplay,
  • it has a high impact colour,
  • a high opacity,
  • it does not irritate the eyes.

CONS:

  • it tends to bend,
  • might feel less soft to the touch (compared to other Phantasee models),
  • might not cover your iris completely.

This Phantasee Glow UV contact lens is purely fun, and I enjoyed wearing it because once worn, it’s very comfortable… it seems to be part of you! The colour is extremely bright, and it covers my natural dark eye shade (hazel); however, it doesn’t completely cover the dimension of my iris. I had no issue with my frontal or side vision, and this helped to make me feel comfortable all the time.
