By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence – review

This bottle seems to hold the warmth of the sun! This was my thought when I first opened the honey-gold box with By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence. This is a beloved product online, many say it’s a miraculous skincare step…

Korean skincare review: By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence.

With such a buzz, I had to try it because I don’t believe in miracles. Today is all about Wishtrend in-house skincare label, By Wishtrend, and this face essence.

By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence: product and package

By Wishtrend answers to basic daily needs and skincare concerns with simple products at tiny prices. This Korean brand wanted to deliver a product light as a feather with its Quad Active Boosting Essence, a serum booster. This facial essence comes in a golden, 100-ml glass bottle with a nice heft. It has a stopper to help to dose the product.

Formula
By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence has a cruelty-free formula with an interesting pool of 46% natural active and fermented ingredients. The inci suggests this face essence doesn’t compromise in the percentage of natural extracts. The ingredient list is relatively concise, and sees in the first line willow extract, followed by the so-called ‘Quad Active‘ – a group of three extracts (white mulberry, lotus leaves, and magnolia fruit extracts). In the list figure fermented honey, fermented black tea, and 1% of propolis extracts nearing the end.

With this formula, By Wishtrend essence was made to quench the skin; calm irritation and fight inflammations (cornflower water, white mulberry, magnolia fruit extracts); contrast and reduce acne and bacteria (propolis, lotus leaf, willow bark extracts); help skin renewal for a brighter skin (willow bark extracts, cornflower water and propolis extracts).

Texture and scent
I can feel this essence quite agreeable on my skin but not incredibly fresh as described. However, I agree with the lightness of its texture. In fact, the Quad Active Boosting Essence has a watery texture; it also looks like water and is mainly water-based. It has a very low viscosity; hence, it dries fast and leaves no stickiness or oiliness. It hasn’t a particular scent. A sort of greenery note is sneaking in the background if you put your nose in the bottle, but who does? The lack of a distinctive smell, together with the liquid formula, makes it easy to include in any routine, no matter how complex it is.

How to use:
Easy: By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence fits specifically between your toner and your serum. It can be applied with a cotton pad, but I apply it by ‘slapping’ it with my hands as a man would do with its aftershave!

PROS:

  • it’s suitable for every skin type;
  • lightweight;
  • fast-absorbing;
  • cruelty-free;
  • made without colourant and synthetic fragrances;
  • has 46% of natural ingredients;
  • hydrating and calming;
  • versatile.

CON:

  • requires constancy (Particularly with this product, results aren’t immediate).

The public presentation is great, but still, I had some concerns regarding – that’s weird to admit – the number of praises, particularly on Instagram. I read too many good reviews, and I expected to find a skin saver. So, I did my homework; I tested it around to see how to manage the essence correctly within my AM and PM routines.
Many products in my regime are available at Wishtrend; the Quad Active Boosting Essence is available on the same website at $18.40 (regular price $23).*

By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence is actually an extra step and, if you aren’t keen to follow a strictly Korean-inspired skincare regime, you might find it too much. At first, I thought the same. I used it after my toner and before a serum; after the toner and simply instead of my regular toner (Rovectin Cica Care Purifying Toner – reviewed here). I found out that when my acne condition is quiet, By Wishtrend face essence works nicely by keeping my skin hydrated, light and even. When I need more attention, then I switch back to my toner, and I may add the essence as a third step.

As stated in the list above, this essence needs constancy or few results can be noted. However, the immediate effect which revaluates this essence is hydration. It’s more hydrating than a toner, and it avoids that bothering ‘stretch and dry’ feeling I can still feel sometimes between toner and face cream. With the weeks, it helps to smooth and balance my skin condition, eventually evening the tone.

My jawline is my most critical area since hormonal acne has arrived…

In my opinion, By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence isn’t the sacred Graal of skincare, but it’s a very gentle product for the most upset skin and a genuinely good option when I need extra hydration without too many products. If you listen to your skin, you’ll know if you need something delicate like this face essence and serum booster. In case of sensitive skin, living in a hot environment or in a super polluted city, this is a relief.
