dear Klairs, Youthful Glow Sugar Mask: product and packaging
This skin treatment by dear, Klairs is a 2-in-1 that works as a face mask and as a face scrub. It comes in a white and salmon-pink jar (110g) with a protective lid and spatula. Jar and box, in pure dear, Klairs’ style, are matching in colour and design. See the jar silhouette on the front of the cardboard package…
Formula
Cleansing, exfoliating, brightening (to me) and moisturising. This sugar mask combines more products and functions in one skin-friendly solution. The formula is vegan, 4 big-free and low irritant PH level. dear Klairs, Youthful Glow Sugar Mask is packed with antioxidants (Vitamin E, grapefruit and raspberry extracts), moisturising ingredients (shea butter, raspberry oil and jojoba oil) and cleansing and exfoliating agents (kaolin and sucrose), plus calamine with its anti-inflammatory action. Kaolin is a quite familiar presence in purifying clay masks but it doesn’t strip away your natural moisture, and the same happens with sucrose.
Texture and scent
Everything in this product speaks of its sweetness. the colour code, of course, but particularly its texture and scent. It’s immediately evident at the first glance: the crystally texture reminds of sugary confectioneries. You can see and feel on your skin the sugar crystals. It’s a fondant pinky cream with a grainy and viscous composition that looks compact in the pot but starts to melt as you massage it and fuse with your body temperature. Its low melting point makes this sugar mask easy to wash off. The scent is a mixture of comforting butter, sugar and a light fruity note on the background. Not exactly like a macaroon but more like a spreadable Danish biscuit for your skin.
How to use:
As a nourishing mask, apply dear Klairs, Youthful Glow Sugar Mask with the help of the spatula and spread it gently without rubbing it. Let it place for 10 minutes, then wash off with warm water. To use it straight from the jar as an exfoliator, apply on cleansed, wet skin with dry hands and massage it in circular motions. Then rinse it off.
PROS:
- it’s multi-purpose (2-in-1, exfoliator and mask);
- vegan and eco-friendly;
- delicate with most skin types;
- easy to use (both ways);
- it contains natural ingredients;
- has a light aroma;
- comes with a spatula (more hygienic);
- doesn’t dry the skin;
- gives extra moisture;
- leaves the skin smoother and supple.
CON:
- it may feel too harsh on dry areas (used as an exfoliator).
dear Klairs, Youthful Glow Sugar Mask is a 2-in-1 skincare product with 3 actions in one, and it costs $24 online at Wishtrend. This sweet mask is a joy for all human senses but – as spontaneously you may ask yourself – is it as a good exfoliator as a good face mask? It isn’t a cheap question, after all. Many promises led to high expectations, especially mine. So I wondered if I could feel the hydration after scrubbing my skin, and how to wash off a sticky mask.

The Youthful Glow Sugar Mask actually exfoliates and leaves my skin softer, smoother and brighter – at least in my opinion. And it did wash off effortlessly both when used as a mask and as a face scrub. Warm water makes the job even more pleasurable! The sole objection I may put forward is the intensive exfoliating action which requires you to be extra delicate on your dry areas. As you rub the mask onto your skin, the texture will start to melt but still, I must recommend a softer touch. As a mask, I can feel the hydration and the suppleness afterward.
I may have found a sweat BFF for my combo skin and I think you may agree with me. I only wish this jar was bigger, I won’t gain any extra calories from it so I keep spreading it.
