I’M FROM Fig Cleansing Balm – review and how to use

It would be awesome to wash away a whole day – and all the colours that make us ‘socially presentable’ – with a simple splash of water! It’s quite possible with I’M FROM Fig Cleansing Balm before water…

I’M FROM Fig Cleansing Balm actually comes from figs picked in South Korea and has the same natural juicy aroma figs have!

I’M FROM Fig Cleansing Balm: product and packaging

This product by Korean vegan skincare company I’M FROM is a makeup remover and face cleanser that works alone or as part of your double-cleansing routine. I’M FROM FIG Cleansing Balm may be a good product to introduce you to cleansing balms because, after all, they aren’t so popular and often end up too messy. No surprise they aren’t people’s first choice to remove makeup.

The complete package recalls the shade of a sun-matured fig: a deep burgundy with a delicate 3D-printed pattern. As you can see from my previous I’M FROM skincare reviews, the design of the outer packaging always matches the natural key ingredient (Rice, Mugwort, etc.) and the actual dispenser or jar is very sturdy. This face cleanser comes in a big plastic jar with a protective lid and a spatula and it contains 100ml of product in solid form. In this case, the jar is very lightweight but doesn’t look or feel cheap.

Formula
This cleansing balm has a comforting formula made with synthetic wax, moringa oil and fig water extracted with a technique developed by the brand called ‘oil macerating extraction method’. While reading the ingredient list – called ‘inci’ in Italian – you’ll be surprised to stumble upon unknown botanical terms like ‘Melia Azadirachta’ (chinaberry tree) in this specific product. This face cleanser is rich in polyphenols and vitamins from figs, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of old, good turmeric. The figs used in this balm are picked in the Southern and warmer coastal area of Yeongam and make a total of 7.8% in the ingredient list. This note will mean absolutely nothing unless you are curious about what you spread on your skin or you’re a nerdy type.

Texture and scent
I’M FROM FIG Cleansing Balm looks in the jar like a shy pinkish solid block. The texture is ready to melt as it gets in contact with your fingers or your skin, turning into oil in seconds. However, the transformation is not over yet… The scent is the typical fresh, refreshing and sweet fragrance of a ripe fig. It’s so natural that scooping and eating the balm is dangerously appealing!

With the help of the spatula, take a nut of this balm. It will start melting as soon as you pick it and rub it between your fingers. Once melted, you can massage the oil onto dry skin; as you gently massage it all over your face, your makeup melts. Leave it for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse it off with lukewarm water while keep massaging. At this point, the oil becomes a milky liquid that will wash away all your makeup and invisible impurities.

How to use:
The formula and transforming texture do the trick to deeply cleanse the skin without stripping vital hydration. From solid butter, I’M FROM FIG Cleansing Balm becomes an oily substance, then a milky lotion in contact with water

I rarely leave the CON area empty; if this happens, there’s a good reason behind it. I don’t need to get in good with the brand, I simply let the pictures speak about how easy the cleansing steps are and how clean my face looks afterwards.

Before and after using I'M FROM Fig Cleansing Balm. Review by Valentina Chirico
Before – After

Let me bring you a short summary of my experiences with alternative cleansing products. I used L’Oreal Fine Flowers cleansing cream before but, apart from a decent – yet not perfect job, it was very slippery and messy. I had to clean the jar after washing my face! This fig cleansing balm is less messy than other cleansing creams and makes me feel very clean and fresh without post-mascara panda eye the morning after. I must mention this balm is so delicate that I can use it around my eye area and on my eyelids! So far so good but… is I’M FROM FIG Cleansing Balm worth it?

I'M FROM Fig Cleansing Balm, is it worth it?

$30 is a considerable price for a product for frequent use. However, that little amount I scoop every time saves extra pounds in face wipes and time in double-cleansing. This $30-worth jar is a massive saving and smells like home sweet home Cilento.
