I’M FROM Mushroom Collagen Ampoule – review

If you like risotto mushrooms, your skin will fancy another type of dish: I’M FROM Mushroom Collagen Ampoule with its plant-based collagen.

When your skin gets all sagging and sad, collagen is one of the ingredients you look for. I’M FROM Mushroom Collagen Ampoule has got it but plant-based.

I’M FROM Mushroom Collagen Ampoule: product & packaging

This little ampoule is like a small mushroom popping up from the underwood. It stays in the palm of your hand. I’M FROM Mushroom Collagen Ampoule comes in a squatted taupe-grey bottle with a dropper dispenser for a total of 30ml of treatment ($24). Its opaque shade should protect the key ingredients from the sunlight too!

Formula

This small bottle is big in antioxidants and collagen. The main ingredient, Tremella Fuciformis or “Snow mushroom”, makes up 20% of the treatment and it’s a mushroom appreciated in herbal and Asian medicine, and for which modern research confirmed its antioxidant properties. This ampoule also contains Chlorella Vulgaris – algae rich in antioxidants – macadamia oil, shea butter, soluble collagen and panthenol. This formula is for all skin types and aims to strengthen the skin barrier, fight free radicals and oxidation, and repulp the skin with the help of collagen while leaving the skin intensely moist.

What's inside I'M FROM Mushroom Collagen Ampoule

What’s Tremella mushroom? Is snow mushroom really good for your skin?

Tremella Fuciformis is also called “snow mushroom” for its ethereal and candid appearance. It’s an edible mushroom used in Asian cuisine and medicine for centuries, and it’s recently gained much popularity in the cosmetic industry. In fact, tremella mushroom activity has been tested against the issues causing ageing and skin texture alterations, and it seems like it’s mainly thanks to its content in polysaccharides and beta-glucan, in particular.

Beta-glucan from Tremella mushrooms helps keep the moisture and fortify the lipidic barrier; while polysaccharide “tremellan” fights inflammation. This mushroom doesn’t contain collagen but the polysaccharides can stimulate its production, as a sort of net that keeps the skin nice and tight. Last but not least, the antioxidant properties of the snow mushroom help contrast free radicals to reduce cellular damage and slow down the ageing processes. It also helps against photodamage and photo-sensitisation thanks to a specific enzyme.

In short, Tremella Fuciformis has the right to be popular as scientific and lab studies proved its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties along with other benefits for the body.

Texture and scent

As pure as this mushroom looks in nature, I’M FROM Mushroom Collagen Ampoule is white like the snow and without any fragrance: clean. It has a rather thick consistency that feels light on the skin with a touch of viscosity. It doesn’t sink quickly onto the skin but allows you a draining massage with your hands and also with tools like a gua sha or a gold massaging device. (I use a vibrating T-bar)

How to use I’M FROM Mushroom Collagen Ampoule

This antiageing ampoule can be used both day and night between your toner and face cream, or serum and face cream depending on how complex is your skincare routine. Apply it on clean skin with circular and patting motions and a tool if you’d like.

I'M FROM cruelty-free plant-based collagen ampoule

PROS:

  • it’s for all skin types,
  • free ethanol, artificial colourant, artificial fragrances, silicons and steroids,
  • vegan and cruelty-free,
  • it isn’t sticky nor feels heavy,
  • doesn’t irritate the skin,
  • leaves the skin instantly smooth,
  • strengthens the skin barrier,
  • delivers plumpiness and firmness with constant application.

CONS:

  • the content is rather small,
  • the dropper might pick a little product at a time.

If mushrooms remind you of earthiness, you’ll be happy at the idea of a crystal-clean absence of scent. I’M FROM Mushroom Collagen Ampoule is made to work without overworking your senses.

In these hot months, I decided to store this ampoule in my fridge. I think it has been a very lucky decision. Its texture feels thicker in this way but also fresher. This treatment takes its sweet time to get absorbed, even more, if kept very cool but the longer massage is worth the wait!

My skin feels fresher and smoother to the touch from the first applications; and, in a couple of weeks, firmness and plumpiness are there as a reward for my constancy. Everybody knows the jawline is a critical area when it comes to skin ageing and I feel it’s firm enough. People in their 20s-25 can enjoy this treatment because it’s never too early to protect your skin from the environment and early ageing.

My favourite anti-ageing products mainly contain HAs but I’m happy with this snow mushroom. I’ll keep it in my skin diet.
